oye ne, verás, ye que toy organizandu un eventu de escanciau de sidra en Osaka pa´primeros del mes que vien y de pasu de promoción de Asturies. Hemos pedido unes botellines por correu pero ye que ta todo muy caru e igual pa tos los xaponeses que xuntu ye pocu y tocamos a un culín, que no da ni pa un diente, pero somos más pobres que les rates. Asturian cider is a unique variation of cider.

If you go there, you should try the experience of drinking Sidra.

Drinking cider in Asturias is a ritual in itself. The most interesting aspect of sidra is in the manner in which it is served and drunk. A kind of bars known as “sidrerias” sell sidra, by the bottle. I think the price may be around 3 euros per litre on those days.

The barman dispenses the drink into your glass , and it is the manner in which they do this that makes drinking sidra unique. The bottle is held at shoulder height or beyond and a stream of sidra is then poured into the waiting glass which is angled as close to the horizontal as possible. Spilling significant quantities of sidra is expected and accepted, even if much of it finds it way onto a customers shoes.The floor will get wet and sticky sometimes. So be ready for this!. How about a sidra shower?. Sidra is never left to stand. You are meant to drink in one gulp what the barman offers you, leaving a little in order to clean the glass border splashing it out onto the ground.

Usually, the glass is passed around and everyone drinks from the same glass.
